Roman Market in Alcalá de Henares

Better known as“Complutum Renacido”, this event that arrives in its second edition turns the city of Alcalá de Henares into an authentic Roman town with gladiator fights and a craft market.

Considered a World Heritage Site by the Community of Madrid, from Friday, April 29 to Monday, May 2, Alcalá de Henares will celebrate “Complutum Renacido”.

 

Alcalá de Henares is an authentic Roman city, which had its origins in the 1st century BC. and that it soon became an important economic and strategic center from which roads would depart and converge to different places in the geography of Hispania. Around this, the city will celebrate the next May bridge (from Friday, April 29 to Monday, May 2)

In addition, the event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention, so a historical recreationwill be exhibited in the city of Complutense where visitors can enjoy a hugeRoman circus, Roman fights and parades and theater.

 

 

With “Complutum Renacido” you will be able to witness what Alcalá de Henares was like 2000 years ago with a program that will include workshops, conferences and activities detailing the history of this city. It is quite an experience that will even make you feel like a true Gladiator.
